PARFIX SMP HYBRID
Adhesive based on silyl modified polyether
Product ID: 22201031 - PARFIX SMP HYBRIDPARFIX SMP HYBRID is a one-component adhesive that cures under the influence of moisture from the air, based on prepolymers with silane terminal groups (MS technology). This adhesive is classified as elastic according to ISO EN 17178. It is recommended for bonding engineered wood floors onto existing granite, ceramic, or marble floor tiles. It is also suitable for bonding engineered wood floors on underfloor heating and cooling systems. PARFIX SMP HYBRID also has very good sound insulation properties.

The substrate to be bonded must be properly cured, dry, clean, well dusted, and not excessively uneven or rough.
Substrate moisture content:
• Cement screeds and concrete: max. 2.00%
• Cement screeds with underfloor heating: max. 1.70%
• Anhydrite/gypsum screeds: max. 0.50%
• Anhydrite/gypsum screeds with underfloor heating: max. 0.20%
Wood moisture content:
• 9.00% ±2 for solid wood and mosaic parquet elements (UNI EN 13226, UNI EN 13227, UNI EN 13228, UNI EN 13488)
• 7% ±2 for multilayer elements (UNI EN 13489)
When installing floor coverings on underfloor heating systems, after proper curing and drying, the entire system must be tested. It is strongly recommended to perform a trial test in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions for the heating system (installation certificate required). An incompletely cured or stabilized subfloor in heated systems may release plasticizers (not fully hardened) and residual moisture, which can affect the long-term adhesion properties of the adhesive. It is important to follow the “Best Practice Guidelines for Wood Flooring Installation” as stated in this technical sheet.
The substrate onto which bonding is carried out must be adequately dry; any cracks must be repaired, the surface must be evenly absorbent and completely clean of all substances that could affect adhesion (residual dust, grease, old coatings, etc.). Apply PARFIX SMP HYBRID to the substrate, then install the wooden flooring onto the applied adhesive, placing the elements tightly next to each other. Press them firmly into the adhesive during installation to ensure that the adhesive fully covers the entire surface. Proper adhesion to the substrate is ensured when at least 65% of each installed wooden element is in direct contact with the adhesive. In most cases, the use of a primer is not required. However, if the substrate is problematic (e.g. lack of a moisture barrier, surface prone to damage, the initial heating cycle of underfloor heating has not been completed, anhydrite/gypsum substrates, etc.), we recommend using a primer to improve the substrate properties.
For substrates with underfloor heating, the use of a primer is mandatory. Apply one coat of PARFIX BLOCK 4.5 (see the product technical data sheet) and continue with the application of PARFIX SMP HYBRID after 24 hours. If the substrate is porous or weak, we recommend applying PARFIX K22, PARFIX PU PRIMER, PARFIX PU PRIMER RAPID, or PARFIX BLOCK 4.5. Drying time before subsequent layers depends on the primer used (see relevant technical data sheets). When bonding wooden flooring to glazed surfaces (such as ceramic tiles, glazed tiles, polished marble, etc.), thoroughly clean the surface of dust, fine sand, adhesive residues, and wax, then apply PARFIX SMP HYBRID. If bonding is carried out on anhydrite/gypsum substrates, they must be thoroughly sanded using grit 24 or 36 sandpaper, dust must be removed, and PARFIX BLOCK 4.5 or PARFIX PU PRIMER RAPID must be applied. Before application, PARFIX SMP HYBRID must be acclimatized at room temperature for at least 24 hours. The installed wooden flooring can be sanded after 2–3 days, depending on atmospheric conditions, air humidity, and the type of wood used.
Any excess adhesive can be removed using a damp cloth. If adhesive remains after application, close the container tightly using both lids to prevent unnecessary waste.
approx. 1 – 1,4kg/m², depending on type of substrate and tools. Using adequate PARFIX PRIMERS reduces consumption of glue and boosts glue adhesion
